Barret A. Hagen, PE

bhagen@hagen-eng.com

Education: Auburn University, Bachelor of Engineering 2000. (War Eagle!)

Professional Licensure: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Arkansas

Barret started his career in the construction industry working in the Family plumbing business in Florida. By 8 years of age he was spending every summer on a plumbing crew. Pay was not great and contributions to the jobs were minimal in the beginning, but a great work ethic was obtained. He knew that success was generated by a lot of hard work.

After college, Barret worked in Atlanta for Haines Gipson and Associates and gained invaluable design experience. It was the early 2000s and the retail industry was booming in the South. Although it was sad to leave Haines Gipson in 2003, new opportunities were waiting in North Carolina.

From 2003 to 2010, Barret worked for two companies in the Triad area. One was an engineering design firm, and the second provided design and construction management. By observing exactly how designs were being built, the years spent in construction management provided unique and valuable experience. Most of the projects that he managed were designed by other engineers but he was afforded opportunities to witness what worked best in the field and what fell short of the best possible results.  The training and inestimable experience gained through those years were instrumental in what ultimately led to the beginning of Hagen Engineering.

Barret is confident that he can provide to his Clients a fresh perspective. He has acquired the necessary knowledge regarding the design, permitting, and site work construction process and understands the developer’s perspective. Barret is involved in every project at Hagen Engineering to promote the most excellent product we can provide.
